The things you eat daily and do not eat go a long way in having effects on your acne and acne scar treatment. There are good and bad diets for acne and knowing what the experts recommend can help you know what to avoid.   1. Foods with high Glycemic Index

Examples of foods with high glycemic index are sugars, refined carbohydrates and other processed foods such as potato chips, white bread, cookies, etc. These foods are broken down easily in the gut to increase the sugar level in the blood. The increase in sugar level leads to the skin producing more oil that will clog the skin pores which causes acne. You should avoid anything refined or white. Eat whole-grain bread and eat brown rice instead of white rice.

  1. Dairy Products and Milk

Dairy products stimulate the release of insulin and growth hormones which can all play roles in cystic acne. For cystic acne to disappear or not show up at all, opt for non-dairy alternatives like almond or soy milk.

  1. Fatty Foods

Saturated fats found in processed baked foods and fried foods are unhealthy and are linked to worsening cystic acne cases. Fatty foods releases cytokines in the blood which are stimulants for skin inflammation. Avoid menus like these and make sure you eat junks less.
